Winnipeg Police Officer Tests Positive for COVID-19

Contact tracing to see who has been in contact with the officer is being completed
A member of the Winnipeg Police Service has advised they have tested positive for COVID-19. The officer works in the Service Centre at the downtown Headquarters Building at 245 Smith Street.
The Service Centre is where the public report crimes in person and obtain criminal record checks or non-criminal fingerprinting.
The affected member worked in the Service Centre area on Friday, October 2 and Saturday, October 3, as well as the morning of Monday, October 5.
Public health investigations has began the contact tracing process to identify individuals who may have been exposed after a confirmed laboratory test. Anyone identified as a close contact will be contacted by public health officials and provided instructions on next steps.
The Winnipeg Police Service has previously implemented numerous safety precautions at station duty, including the installation of glass barriers and requiring that personnel wear masks.
