Vehicle accident takes the life of 62 year old Winnipeg Transit Driver

Winnipeg Police and Transit are still at the scene of the accident

A Winnipeg Transit driver was struck by a black SUV just across the street from the West Kildonan Transit Garage and died at the scene. The accident took place just after 6pm on the corner of main and Matheson.

Emergency personnel attended and located the victim, a 62-year-old male of Winnipeg. While he was crossing the street heading eastbound, he was struck by a vehicle heading northbound on Main Street. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. Members of the Traffic Unit are investigating.
