Trump Cancels January 6th Press Conference Aimed To Compete With Biden
January 6th will mark the one year anniversary of the day former disgraced US President Donald J. Trump incited a terrorist attack on the US Capitol Building. The will be marked with a moment of silence to honour the brave men and women that protected and lost their lives defending the Capitol.
Trump had scheduled a competing press conference to compete for air time with US President Biden’s address to the nation. Trump was to use the day to placate to his sycophants and further spread his false information about the election being stolen.
In a statement released late Tuesday night by former President Trump’s Save America PAC, Trump blamed the media for the negative press his event has been receiving.
“In light of the total bias and dishonesty of the January 6th Unselect Committee of Democrats, two failed Republicans, and the Fake News Media, I am canceling the January 6th Press Conference at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday, and instead will discuss many of those important topics at my rally on Saturday, January 15th, in Arizona—It will be a big crowd!” Trump said.
With Trump’s rally cancelled, the nation can use the day to reflect and properly mourn the ones lost on that awful day. A day without Trump spreading lies and misinformation is day Americans deserve.
