Top Ranking Iranian Envoy Arrives In Afghanistan For Peace Talks

President Ashraf Ghani in a meeting with Mohammad Ebrahim Taherian, the special envoy of the Islamic Republic of Iran for Afghanistan, discussed efforts to expand mutual relations as well as Afghan peace process, today morning at the Presidential Palace.

President Ghani said the Government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan puts any effort in place to establish sustainable peace and stability in the country, that will ensure peace and stability in the region.

Mohammad Embrahim Taherian provided information on the recent visit of the Taliban’s delegation to Tehran and said Islamic Republic of Iran reaffirms its principled stance, which is respect for Afghanistan Constitution.

He added that his country will support an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process, where the Afghan government plays the pivotal role.
