Journalist and Tv personality
Mr Al Khafagi holds a diploma from the College of Fine Arts (Baghdad) and, in 2001, moved to live in Dubai with his family. His career began in 2012 when he participated in the talent program Star Academy 9 with the help of his girlfriend Rahma Riyad.
After passing the initial stage of the competition, he withdrew to participate in the reality TV show for acting talents, “The Mask” and reached the finals further convincing the audience of his talent and acting ability. Mr Al Khafagi later went on to win the competition in April of 2013 at the Babylon Theater in Erbil and won the “Golden Mask” in 2014 after receiving the highest voter rating ever received from an audience.
He credits the Al Sharqiya Channel for producing an absolutely amazing championship special filled with dazzle and drama. Mr Al Khafagi’s career took off after winning both Mask competitions and parlayed it into an online personality and respected journalist.
One of his first programs to be aired was “Dusselha”, an awareness campaign that urged encouragement for cycling. This campaign was a huge success and broadcasted in Dubai, Baghdad and later in Japan.
The program ran for six months through Al Sharqiya Channel and was selected as the best-distinguished program in the world, in 2015. Mr Al Khafagi then went on to star in a hidden camera series with world-renowned artist Ihssan Daadoush and other star-studded A-listers via (Al-Sharqiya Channel).
