The Democratic Republic Of Congo Gets Visit From High Profile Cabinet Minister Gould

The Honourable Karina Gould, Minister of International Development, will embark on a four day diplomatic trip to the Democratic Republic Congo (DRC).
Canada has always remained a strong presence in the African region and has committed over $200 million specifically to improving education, health, agriculture and fighting climate change to the DRC.
“Canada has long-standing relationships with the Republic of Congo and the Democratic Republic of Congo. I look forward to working with my counterparts to discuss how together we can advance our shared priorities to foster prosperity that leaves no one behind.”

Minister Gould will use her visit as an opportunity to strengthen the relationship between the two nations. Canada remains committed to ensuring the DRC has access to the resources it requires to address some of the challenges often faced by African countries such as peace and security, Ebola and gender equality.
