Team Toronto Ramps Up Vaccine Drive Across The City

Team Toronto continues to help kids and education workers get vaccinated

Over the next three days, starting today through Saturday, January 15, Team Toronto will hold clinics that will work to administer COVID-19 vaccine to kids and education workers, ahead of the return to in-class learning next Monday. The clinics include 11 school-based clinics, one school that is invited to a hospital clinic; and five City of Toronto Mass Immunization Clinics.

These clinics are part of Team Toronto’s continuing efforts to make progress in helping residents get vaccinated.

Yesterday, Mayor John Tory announced “Vax The Northwest” Team Toronto’s latest mass vaccination event taking place on Sunday, January 23. For one day only, Vax The Northwest will serve more than 1,000 COVID-19 vaccinations in York University’s Aviva Centre.

On January 12, the City of Toronto announced that fourth doses of COVID-19 vaccine are now being administered in all City-run long-term care (LTC) homes and that the LTC vaccination clinics will continue until all eligible LTC residents are vaccinated. More information here.

Last month, Team Toronto ramped up vaccination efforts to help all eligible Toronto residents get their third dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

Given the emergence of the new Omicron variant and ongoing community transmission of the Delta variant, Toronto Public Health urges all eligible residents to book their third-dose appointment. Residents who have not yet received their first or second COVID-19 vaccine shot are encouraged to do so as soon as possible. COVID-19 vaccines lower the risk of serious illness, hospitalization and death while protecting oneself, loved ones and the community.
