Shop & Vax to bring hyper-local COVID-19 vaccination clinics to shopping centres
Starting this week, Toronto Public Health (TPH) will bring COVID-19 vaccination clinics to local shopping centres as part of the Shop And Vax initiative.
The latest Shop And Vax campaign is underway now and continues until Saturday, April 30, with 46 hyper-local clinics across Toronto, including at the following shopping centres:
- Dufferin Mall, 900 Dufferin St.
- Eglinton Square Shopping Centre, 1 Eglinton Sq., Suite 203
- Lawrence Allen Center, 700 Lawrence Ave. W.
- Scarborough Town Centre, 300 Borough Dr.
- Stockyards, 1980 St. Clair Ave. W.
- Yonge Sheppard Centre, 2 Sheppard Ave. E.
The vaccination clinics at the shopping centres listed above will operate on a walk-in basis, to provide first, second, third, fourth and paediatric doses to eligible residents. City of Toronto immunization clinics, including Woodbine Mall and Cloverdale Mall, continue to administer doses to residents on an appointment basis. More information, including clinic locations and hours of operations, are available on the City’s COVID-19: Pop-Up Immunization Clinics webpage.
Clinics featured in this most recent Shop And Vax initiative were selected by TPH as part of Team Toronto’s hyper-local, equity-focused strategy to make COVID-19 vaccines as accessible and convenient as possible and to facilitate easy access in places where Torontonians live, work and play in their everyday lives.
“Team Toronto will be hosting 46 Shop And Vax clinics this month to help eligible residents get their first, second, third, fourth or kids COVID-19 vaccine dose. These hyper-local clinics make it as easy as possible for residents to get vaccinated so they have the best protection possible against COVID-19. This is all part of our ongoing effort to make sure residents across Toronto have access to the vaccine. If you’re eligible, please get vaccinated as soon as possible to help protect the progress we are making as a city bringing this pandemic to an end.” – Mayor John Tory
“Thank you to Shop And Vax location hosts and our Team Toronto partners who keep working hard to make sure that residents can access COVID-19 vaccines across our city. This approach is part of our ongoing efforts to ensure that residents have the best protection against COVID-19 and can keep up-to-date with their vaccinations, as we continue seeing virus activity in our community.” – Dr. Eileen de Villa, Toronto’s Medical Officer of Health
All eligible residents are encouraged to get their first, second, third and fourth dose as soon as possible, if they have not done so yet. As with vaccines for other diseases, residents are protected best when their vaccinations are up-to-date. As COVID-19 continues to circulate in the community, residents are encouraged to practice public health measures including getting vaccinated, wearing a high quality, well-fitting mask, especially indoors, and based on the setting and situation, and staying home if feeling unwell.
