Sanders Quickly Endorses Joe Biden’s 2020 Presidential Run. Sanders Likely To Be In Biden’s Administration

Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT), who suspended his campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination on April 8, 2020, endorsed former Joe Biden for president.

He called on voters to come together to support the former vice president’s run against President Trump. The endorsement came as part of an online campaign event discussing the COVID-19 pandemic’s impact on the U.S. economy hosted by Mr. Biden from his home in Wilmington, Delaware via streaming video.

The two men discussed how they would like to see the federal government respond to the pandemic’s economic fall-out and why they believed President Trump should not win reelection in November 2020

Sanders endorsement of Biden came within a week of him suspending his campaign, which was substantially quicker than that of his endorsement of Hilliary Clinton.

Although not confirmed, we expect Sanders to play a key role in a Biden administration if he wins the presidency come November. Possible positions include Secretary of State, Secretary of Health or Secretary of Education.
