It is no secret that Fox News, Newsmax, and other right-wing cable outlets have been spreading propaganda for years. From asserting that the 2020 presidential election was rigged to claiming that the January 6 insurrection at the Capitol never happened, these networks have shown time and time again that they prioritize their agenda over the truth. But how do they get away with it?
The answer is simple: these companies have no morals. They are all about making money, and their advertisers are getting a return on their investments, so they turn a blind eye to the corporations’ lies and unethical behavior. They are willing to sacrifice their journalistic integrity and their viewers’ trust for profit.
What is even more disturbing is that many of their viewers have been indoctrinated for years or even decades with right-wing propaganda. They believe what they are hearing is true, and they are not open to hearing other perspectives. The networks know this and take advantage of their viewers’ lack of education and critical thinking skills.
It is also worth noting that the lack of higher education among their viewers is not a coincidence. The right-wing media ecosystem has been actively working to undermine education for decades. They know that educated people are less likely to believe in conspiracy theories and more likely to demand evidence-based reporting. By keeping their viewers ignorant, they ensure that their propaganda is more effective.
These right-wing media organizations are nothing more than fascist propaganda machines. They are willing to distort the truth, incite violence, and undermine democracy to achieve their goals. They don’t care about the consequences of their actions as long as they make money and gain power.
It is up to all of us to recognize the dangers of these networks and to hold them accountable. We must demand that our media uphold the highest standards of journalistic integrity and report the truth, not just what is convenient for their agenda. We must also educate ourselves and our communities to be critical thinkers and to resist the dangers of fascist propaganda machines.
