Firearms and money seized after police execute search warrant
TDS News – The New Brunswick RCMP seized 17 unsecured long guns and a large amount of cash at a residence in Tobique First Nation, N.B.
On the evening of February 26, 2021, police executed a search warrant at a home on Fourth Street as part of an ongoing investigation. An extensive search of the property resulted in the discovery of long guns hidden in a wall. A large amount of cash was also found.
A 68-year-old man was arrested at the residence. He was later released pending a future court appearance in April in Woodstock Provincial Court.
The investigation was conducted as part of a coordinated law enforcement approach with West District RCMP and RCMP Police Dog Services and involvement from the Woodstock Police Force and Fredericton Police Force.
The public plays an important role in helping to reduce, prevent and solve crime, including the trafficking of illegal drugs and contraband. Anyone with information about, or who suspects, illegal activity in their neighbourhood is asked to contact their local police.
