Minister Gould announces 10-day passport pick-up service at four additional Service Canada Centres
The number of passports issued by Service Canada since April 1 has climbed to 556,769, and for the week of July 4 -10, Service Canada staff worked 9,349 hours of overtime. Those are the latest updates from Karina Gould, Minister of Children, Families and Social Development, who oversees passports as part of her portfolio.

In the past months, the ministry has hired an additional 25 employees to support passport operations in their Mississauga Delivery operations Centre, and they continue to add staff to grow their capacity.
Today, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development Karina Gould announced the designation of four additional passport pick-up locations across the country. Effective immediately, Canadians can now apply for and pick up their passport at the following Service Canada Centres:
- Sudbury, Ontario (Sudbury Service Canada Centre)
- Lethbridge, Alberta (Lethbridge Service Canada Centre)
- Kingston, Ontario (Kingston Service Canada Centre)
- Sherbrooke, Québec. (Sherbrooke Service Canada Centre)
In addition to the existing passport offices offering pick-up service, Canadians with proof of travel can now both apply and request in-person pick-up of their passport at a total of eight Service Canada Centres.
Gould further added that these eight locations offer 10-day service in the updated Service Canada Centres. Canadians can apply for a passport in one of those locations, and the passport will be available in 10 business days, either by mail or in-person pick-up.
