Tasnim news agency was the first to report unnamed sources alleging two bombs, strategically placed in suitcases, were said to be detonated remotely near Soleimani’s tomb, resulting in a tragic toll of over 100 lives lost and 150 individuals injured. The devastating attack has prompted Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to declare Thursday, Jan. 4, as a day of national mourning in honor of the victims.
