Parrot beat improbable odds to compete in the 2022 Olympics
The journey to Beijing was improbable to newly minted Gold Medal Olympic Champion Max Parrot. The Quebec native had taken the 2018 season off to undergo twelve rounds of chemo as he was battling a cancer diagnosis.
While most people would have called it quits, Parrot couldn’t let his cancer diagnosis defeat him. “After battling cancer and living through COVID-19, I’ve learned to just relax and enjoy life.” Said Parrot. The Gold medal will be added to his silver medal earned in the 2018 Olympics

This marks Canada’s first-ever Olympic gold in slopestyle, an event which made its debut at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games.
