Massive Explosion In Cuba, Multiple Casualties Confirmed

The recently renovated Saratoga Hotel in Havana, Cuba rocked by an explosion, the cause unknown at the moment

Late Friday night, an explosion rocked the Saratoga Hotel in Havana, Cuba. While police and emergency workers are sifting through the rubble with hopes of finding survivors, the hopes are diminishing with each second that passes.

The hotel was built in the 1930s and saw a multi-million dollar renovation, and began welcoming visitors back in 2005. Cuba, on average, will get approximately 4.8 million tourists each year, but few make it to Havana, the capital.

Havana is one of the most beautiful cities globally, rich in architecture and history. While it is too early to determine the effects of tourism from the blast, local and national authorities at the highest levels have been sent to Havana to determine the cause of the explosion.
