Martyrs and suicide bombers are considered jobs with honour and patriotism
In 2005, the Iraqi Council of Ministers established the Martyrs Foundation, which is a government institute whose mission is to deal with the general situation of the martyrs families and to compensate them materially and morally for the lost of live from suicide or political beliefs.
A martyr is someone who suffers persecution and death for advocating, renouncing, refusing to renounce, or refusing to advocate a religious belief or cause as demanded by an external party. Martyr foundations are quite common throughout the middle -east and essentially serve as a life insurance policy for the families of the deceased.
In Palestine, The Palestinian Martyrs Foundation operates a donation channel called the Guarantee Project. This channel enables donating funds for supporting families of shaheeds and orphans by applying to the foundation by phone or by email.
Martyrs in many Middle Eastern countries and religions are revered and held with the highest esteem. In North America, they are seen as terrorists and murders.
