Inmate Recaptured with Assistance from Buffalo Sage Wellness House

Edmonton, Alberta – In a joint effort between the Edmonton Police Service and Buffalo Sage Wellness House, inmate Eugenia Herman was successfully apprehended on May 1, 2024, at 1:25 p.m. after being unlawfully at large since April 27, 2024.

Buffalo Sage Wellness House, a minimum-security Section 81 facility, played a crucial role in assisting law enforcement authorities in locating and apprehending the escaped inmate. The swift action taken by both organizations resulted in the safe return of the inmate to custody.

Following the apprehension, Native Counselling Services of Alberta and the Correctional Service of Canada have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
