Prince Phillip was two months short of his centurion birthdate

Today the world mourns the loss of His Royal Highness, Prince Phillip, the Duke of Edinburgh. Prince Phillip’s passing is saddening but not unexpected. At the age of 96, he retired from his official duties as a Royal and has been battling issues with his health.

The Prince was the oldest serving Royal male at 99 years of age and died just two months short of his centurion birthday. In a time were the Royals personal lives have been aired publicly, the passing of Prince Phillip will undoubtedly change the tone in British tabloids as the Royal Family is in mourning.

Prince Philip, gave up his Throne to the Greek Monarchy to serve by the side of then Princess Elizabeth the future Queen of England. It is expected Prince Phillip will lie in state before being laid to rest at the Royal Burial Grounds on the Frogmore Estate which is part of Windsor Home Park.
