Since 2015, the federal government has invested nearly $1 billion to make electric vehicles more affordable and charging facilities more accessible to Canadians. These investments support creating a national network of chargers where Canadians live, work, and play. A $5,000 federal rebate is helping more Canadians switch to electric vehicles.

The Zero-Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program was also extended until March 2027 with a $500 million investment by the Infrastructure Bank of Canada in large-scale ZEV charging and refueling infrastructure to generate revenue.
