Newfoundland and Labrador by-election deadline draws near as Furey hopes claim seat

In just a few months, Newfoundland and Labrador will be the second Canadian province to hold an election in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. Ball stayed on as Premier until his successor Andrew Furey won the provincial Liberal leadership race on 3 August 2020.
