Federal Government Commits $20 Million For New Transportation Projects In B.C

The funding will go towards First Nations projects and the development of accessible transportation

Federal Minister Harjit S. Sajjan of International Development and Minister responsible for the Pacific Economic Development Agency of Canada and Nathan Cullen, MLA for Stikine and B.C. Minister of Municipal Affairs, announced more than $20 million in joint federal-provincial funding for eight social, transportation, and green infrastructure projects across British Columbia.

Funs art to get allocated to infrastructure projects, Indigenous communities, and the Bella Bella First Nation Reserve link to the local airport. By allowing people and goods to move freely, the new airport road will benefit the community and provide pedestrians and cyclists with a safe alternative way to commute.

The Federal Government’s financial commitment toward funding projects in B.C is essential to the ongoing development of the province’s ecosystem and communities. Although provinces receive billions of annual transfer payments, the Federal Government always makes additional funding for special and mega-projects.
