D&M Caribbean Flava, Winnipeg’s Newest Authentic Caribbean Restaurant

Councillor Jason Schreyer for Elmwood – East Kildonan was on hand for the ceremonial ribbon cutting

D&M Caribbean Flava, Winnipeg’s newest and most authentic Caribbean restaurant from restaurateurs Darica and Marcel, had its ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday Afternoon. Councillor Jason Schreyer for Elmwood – East Kildonan was on hand to help cut the ribbon and celebrate the opening of the new restaurant. D&M Caribbean Flava is located at the northeast corner off Molson Street and Grassie Blvd. in the heart of the city.

In his opening remarks, Councillor Schreyer spoke about the importance of having local community-operated businesses as they are the heart of each community. He talked about his goal to create a directory of local businesses that encourages the people to shop within the community, considering the cost of gas and increased cost of living.

Darcia and Marcel said, “they felt honoured to have their city councillor and his wife Sarah come out to support them on their special day, particularly since they were one of the first people to support us before our grand opening.”

D&M Caribbean Flava is a must for anyone wanting to try authentic Caribbean food while listening to the sound of some Bob Marley music. The staff is extremely friendly, and the customer service is top-notch. Because D&M is a family-operated restaurant, you know they are passionate about the food they cook and treat all their guests with the warmest Caribbean hospitality.
