Russia Sputnik V may truly be the first viable COVID-19 vaccine in the world

Twenty days ago Russia announce the approval of Sputnik V, the countries first approved COVID-19 vaccine. The Kremlin was criticized heavily by the World Health Organization (WHO) and other world leaders for not undergoing public testing nor providing clinical data.

“We must be grateful to those who made that first step very important for our country and the entire world. I know the vaccine has proven efficient and forms a stable immunity. My own daughter and has been given the vaccine. ” Said Russian President Putin

In a recent report published in The Lancet, the early Russian vaccine trials are proving to yield positive results. The study concluded participants developed mild symptoms such as a headaches, some weakness and mild pain in their joints. The Sputnik V vaccine is also providing the necessary antibodies needed to fight the COVID-19 strain.

Russia now plans to ramp up its efforts to conduct mass trials as it continues to vaccinate its citizens.
