The Government of Canada repatriated Canadians who were trapped aboard the Grand Princess cruise ship back onto Canadian soil.
Before boarding, passengers were screened for symptoms. Anyone exhibiting symptoms of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) was not permitted to board.
At 6:15am ET Monday, 228 passengers arrived on the plane at Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Trenton.
Upon landing, the returning passengers were screened at CFB Trenton by quarantine officers and then met by officers from the Canada Border Services Agency. They will be subject to a 14-day quarantine period and undergo the same medical assessment and observation as those Canadians who were previously repatriated from Wuhan, China, and Japan.
The Government of Canada is working with provincial, territorial and local public health authorities to ensure that the returning Canadians and their family members receive medical and ongoing support to protect their health and the health and safety of all Canadians.
