Bombers Win Back To Back Grey Cups In Thrilling Overtime To Win

Zach Collaros to Darvin Adams, Winnipeg Blue Bombers strike first on their opening drive in overtime capped off by the two-point conversion by Rasheed Bailey to put the Blue and Gold up by 8 points. The defending Grey Cup champions were trailing most of the game but came on strong when they needed. Just as the Tiger-Cats started to pounce, Kyrie Wilson picked off Jeremiah Masoli to seal the victory for the Blue and Gold.

The Bombers went into Hamilton which was supposed to be a hostile crowd, but thousands of Bomber faithfuls made the trek from Winnipeg to cheer on their Blue and Gold, effectively wiping out home-field advantage. The Bombers own the best record in the CFL at 12 and 3, with zero losses at Investor’s Group Field. While the Tiger-Cats finished with a 10 and 6 record and their two losses at Tim Horton’s came at the hands of the Argos and Alouettes.

The Bombers not only had a phenomenal start to the season, but they also ended on the highest note possible, winning the 108th Grey Cup. The Bombers’ back to back championships solidifies head coach Michael O’Shea as one of the greats and worthy of having his name placed in the ring of honour.

The Bombers will head into 2022 with key players under contract but will likely lose a few to free agency. That being said, they still remain the favourite to defend the cup and win a third in a row, solidifying them as a bonafide CFL dynasty.
