Bombers Play In Front Of Fans For the 1st Time Since 2019

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are to play Football in front of fans for the first time since 2019.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are back in action. It’s been well over a year since they had a match with live fans, yet with restrictions eased, they are able to play once again with the thunderous cheers and applause of a crowd. Investors Group Field has been certified to operate at full capacity for fully vaccinated patrons. This means the seats may be full with as many as 33,000 people.

In this case, ‘fully vaccinated’ means that two have passed since one’s last shot. Those who have not met this time frame or have elected not to be inoculated will have to watch the game from home. Fans also must show proof of immunization via a vaccination card or a scannable QR code on their phone. Though masks aren’t mandatory outdoors, they are indoors at IG Field. This includes inside transit shuttle services and ride buses. The rule applies to everyone ages six and up.

Explaining the process in a radio interview, Bomber CEO Wade Miller said, “We encourage everyone to come early, be ready at the gates when you get there, to have your Manitoba immunization QR code scanned, with your ID out, and then you would move forward.”

The Bombers are to play the Hamilton Tiger-Cats today, August 5, 2021, at 7:30 p.m. With a stadium packed with adoring fans, it is certain to be a lively welcome back to the Bombers and to normalcy.
