Black History Month Honours Winnipeg Coach Kevin Toney

Kevin Toney has been an active member of the community for decades coaching high school Volleyball

When it comes to dedication and leadership, look no further than Winnipeg’s Kevin Toney, the Marketing Coach. But to the countless students, he has coached for over three decades, it’s coach Toney.

For over three decades Mr. Toney has volunteered as a high school volleyball coach. Most of those years were spent at Gordon Bell High School where he had the opportunity to coach so many gifted students. And many of these students went on to do amazing things academically and within the sports world.

“Volunteering takes a lot of time away from family and loved ones but this is my way of giving back to a community that has given so much to me. One of the most important things a person can do is to be an active member within their community” Said Kevin Toney

When Mr. Toney is not coaching high school students, he is coaching small business owners, entrepreneurs, and sales professionals on how to improve their marketing and grow their business.

“Business has been steady during the pandemic,” Said Mr. Toney. Most of his clients are within the service industry such as restaurants, realtors, and home service providers like renovators, plumbers. 

Although the pandemic has not impacted his business negatively in a significant way, some of his clients have been impacted. Mr. Toney was looking forward to getting back to the “new normal”. 

On the final day of Black History Month for February 2021, the celebration of a community leader that has given decades of his time volunteering and mentoring leaders of tomorrow, we honour Mr. Kevin Toney.
