Bipartisan Delegation Conclude First Day Commemorating 75th Anniversary Of Battle Of The Bulge

Bastogne, Belgium – Speaker Nancy Pelosi released the following statement concluding the first day of the bipartisan Congressional Delegation marking the 75th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge:
“On Saturday, upon our arrival, the US delegation had the esteemed privilege of honouring World War II heroes first at luncheon in their honour, next at the annual Battle of the Bulge parade, and then at wreath-laying ceremonies in the city of Bastogne marking 75 years since American forces bravely defended freedom and democracy,” said Speaker Pelosi.
“The culmination of the day’s events was a Veterans Recognition Ceremony to convey our gratitude,” Speaker Pelosi continued. “We are grateful to Prime Minister Sophie Wilmès, Mayor Benoit Lutgen and Ambassador Ronald Gidwitz for providing an opportunity to join in remembering a sacred link in the bonds between our nations.”
