In his first UN General Assembly as a Commander-in-Chief, President Biden stated his administration’s position regarding many issues facing the world, as he urges the world leaders to unite and work on finding solutions for these global challenges.
President Biden emphasized how critical the current state of the world is, from the economic situation that’s been greatly affected by the pandemic to climate change and global warming issues that continue to destroy precious habitats each day.
Biden reaffirmed the United States stance when it comes to global conflicts and wars where the US has troops on the ground. This comes in wake of his administration’s criticism after the withdraw of US military forces from Afghanistan. The US withdrawal declared an end to a conflict that lasted for 20 years, as he promises a new era of relentless diplomacy that benefits people around the world.
“Ladies and gentlemen, this is the clear and urgent choice that we face here at the dawning of what must be a decisive decade for our world — a decade that will quite literally determine our futures.” Said, president Biden.
The president pointed out the shared valued between his country and the UN, encouraging them to uphold their commitment towards the important issues, such as Covid-19, human rights, labor laws, climate change, economic growth, as well as facing the threats of terrorism, and working on improving the lives of people all over the world.
