Americans Are Optimistic After Biden’s First State Of The Union Address

Biden’s State of the Union Speech was the reassurance the world needed from America

The State of the Union is the time the sitting US President uses to address the nation and outlines their plans for America. Yesterday, President Biden used his first State of the Union speech to assure the nation and the world that America is not only open for business, but they are also on the road to a strong recovery.

Biden’s recovery plan pegged at $1.9 trillion US has been widely accepted by most of America, as it is aimed at putting Americans back to work with a lot of shovel ready jobs. These are jobs that are not only high paying, they are filled with long term legacy builds. Even with a reduced House Chamber of 200 election officials, which is a far cry from the 1.600 members of Congress when filled, Biden’s speech was still filled with roaring applause.

“We have to come together to rebuild trust between law enforcement and the people they serve, to root out systemic racism in our criminal justice system, and to enact police reform in George Floyd’s name that passed the House already,” Said President Biden

He was making reference to the recent passing of the George Floyd police reform Bill. Biden is picking up where President Obama left off with his plan for a more perfect union. As many of Biden’s plans will face partisan obstruction for no other reason than to be partisan, Biden will look at using the filibuster and executive orders when possible to implement his election promises while the Democrats still control all three levels of government.
