A Canadian Describes His Side Effects Of The AstraZeneca Vaccine As “Excruciating Pain”

As the vaccination efforts ramp up across Canada, and with the lowering of the age limit for the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, more Canadians are choosing to receive the shot. The AstraZeneca vaccine has been known to cause blood clotting among its recipients, which ultimately led to lowering the immunization age by The National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) to thirty years of age.

Although the reported cases of blood clotting have been small in comparison to those that have received the vaccine, it has been proven to be medically safe and the benefits far outweigh the risk. In speaking with one Canadian that has received the AstraZeneca vaccine, he found the booking process to be quite easy. It was also a matter of hours from the initial online booking to him being vaccinated.

He gave the overall process a 10 out of 10 and only wished the side effects from the vaccine was as smooth as its booking. At first, he didn’t feel any side effects of the AstraZeneca vaccine but five hours later, he described the reaction as excruciating hell. He said, “it was the worst pain he has ever felt in his life”.

He further added his body was in excruciating pain from limb to limb, followed by nausea and a high fever for at least twelve hours before his body felt normal. He said, “if Canadians plan to take the AstraZeneca vaccine, they should be prepared for the possible side effects in the aftermath of receiving the vaccine.”

1. Eat light the day of vaccination because vomiting and nausea can occur
2. Go to bed early and minimize the time spent awake while the vaccine reaches the peak of the side effects
3. Plan to take a couple of days off work as you may very well need it to recover
4. If you are a family with two parents or guardians, only one should take it at a time
5. Be on time for the vaccination and be courteous to the front line workers

Vaccinations are meant to solve a problem or do everything they can to minimize the spread of the virus. Although some Canadians are against vaccination for personal reasons, they can save lives. Knowing the horrible side effects of the vaccine, the Canadian we interviewed is still looking forward to his second dose within 8 weeks, and this time he will be prepared for the side effects.
