President Ghani Bids Farewell To US Ambassador To Kabul

President Ashraf Ghani conferred the state medal of Ghazi Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan upon John Bass, the outgoing US Ambassador to Kabul in recognition of his services today evening in a farewell meeting at the Presidential Palace.
The president commended Ambassador Bass for his relentless efforts during his diplomatic mission in Afghanistan in order to deepen and expand Afghanistan-US multifaceted and friendly relations, contribute to ensuring peace in Afghanistan and the region, and advance mutual partnership between the two countries.
“On behalf of the government and people of Afghanistan, I extend gratitude to the United States for its generous assistance and pay tribute to those Americans who paid the ultimate sacrifice alongside Afghans,” said the president while wishing success for the outgoing ambassador in his upcoming missions.
Ambassador John Bass said Afghanistan’s success is, indeed, the US success and underscored the need to step up efforts to realize the desire for a peaceful future in Afghanistan.
