GOP Minority Leader Mitch McConnell downplays Deadly Insurrection at the US Capitol Building

January 6, 2021, will be known as the day a sitting US President incited an attack on his own country. President Donald Trump and many of the Republican Party members have abdicated their duty to serve the people and do not deserve to hold any office.

Four years of divisive rhetoric acts of violence, racist rhetoric, tens of thousands of lies, intimidation, corruption and calls for acts of anarchy have all been standard practice for Trump and with the enablement of the Republican Party under Mitch McConnell.

Today, the US Senate Republican voted to block the creation of a bipartisan committed to investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection on the US Capitol. The Bill was introduced by the House of Representative and passed with support from 35 Republicans but died on the Senate floor as they were not able to reach the required 60 votes needed to break the filibuster, in which only 6 Republicans had the courage to put the country over Trump.

Mitch McConnell stated over and over again, that a bipartisan committee will jeopardize the Republicans chances of regaining control of the US Senate come 2022, and that the insurrection is the past and time to move one. McConnell and the GOP is everything that is wrong with America. Old and deeply flawed privileged politicians wrapped in the history of colonialism at the expense of poor and marginalized Americans.

Make to mistake, there is two Americas
