Jason Andrew Smith murder suspects are still at large
The Halifax Government is offering a reward of up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the homicide of 45-year-old Jason Andrew Smith.
On Dec. 15, 2019, 911 received a call that a person was being transported by vehicle to the Dartmouth General Hospital with gunshot wounds. Mr. Smith died the following day.
Investigators with the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division believe Mr. Smith met with foul play and there are people who have information not yet offered to police that could result in arrests and possible charges.
“I urge anyone with information to come forward,” said Mark Furey, Attorney General and Minister of Justice. “I hope the addition of this case to the rewards program will help Mr. Smith’s loved ones and the community find closure.”
Anyone with information on this crime should call the Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program at 1-888-710-9090. Those who come forward with information must provide their name and contact information and may be called to testify in court. All calls will be recorded.
